Heck, why not. Here's my first attempt at a finished-ish drawing of the streets of Rusanne, a city-state in my Runewriters story, home to a guy known to most as simply "The Necromancer of Rusanne." Guess where he lives? :D

It is a fortified city, and one of the few city-states in Varanske to have its own military -- bla-de-bla background things that aren't important -- and is always devoid of flowers. Of course, I stuck a vine in front without bothering to check, or else I would've known that MOST VINES ARE FLOWERING PLANTS, whoops.

I'll ... fix that next time I draw this place. I'm still getting the hang of backgrounds. ^^;

the guy lying against the wall looks sketchy... sketchy people are cool, like people who carry around white plastic bags full of melty candy bars, who eat them loudly while standing too close to you in line, and is always appearing behind bushes just as you walk by, and he always says things that are one word, but no quite another, like Excardon me, and calls you as if you were a girl nomatter what your gender is... okay, im just describing my neighbor, senor cardgage... anyway, good pic, ima fav it.

Hey, it's your world, who says vines have to flower? That's the joy of fantasy!

Also - sexy city is sexy. I'm really diggin' those Mexican mission-style terra cotta roofs. It's a really cool contrast to the otherwise very central European look to the place. I love architecture fusion like that.

this is absolutely gorgeous! I love seeing well-drawn and amazingly detailed backgrounds @___@ great job! (wish I could do that...buildings hate me.)

This is true. As per your suggestion, combined with some thoughts from Actorathe, I now need to go and design some creepy non-flowering Tim-Burton-esque plants to live here.

Also probably carnivorous plants, which I CANNOT BELIEVE I did not think of until now.

And thank ye! I noticed a some of Italy and France have the terra cotta roofs as well, and I must admit I love them, so I started messin' around with the look. :3 I'm quite pleased to hear it seems to be working! ^^

This one reminds me of Linda Medley. I half expect a horse man to walk from one of those buildings.
:iconshazzbaa:
Hmm, I haven't heard of her...*googles Linda Medley* Oh, cool! I rather dig it, thank you! That's definitely a complimentary comparison. :D
